Since smoking bans are going on all around the country, many people have turned to chewing tobacco for an easy alternative. But, if you are inexperienced in chewing, you may find that it makes you sick or you are not getting enough nicotine. Here are a few tips you can try if you would like to make the switch from cigarettes to chew. First, get your can of fresh Copenhagen Tobacco. I recommend starting with a light flavor like the wintergreen of natural long cut. You will want to stay away from the heavier chews like the whiskey and hickory. Although they are very delicious, they are not the easiest for beginners to start with. Eventually, you can branch out to the stronger flavors once you know that your stomach can handle it. Once you have your can, grab a fair amount, but not too much, you may get light headed. Take a pinch with your index finger and thumb and press tightly. A good size is about the size of a penny. Place the chew between your lower lip and gums. This is the best way to get the chew to stay in one place without moving around. Some prefer to put the chew between their cheek and back teeth. I wouldn’t recommend this, because it tends to get in your mouth and you end up swallowing it. One of the most important things to remember when chewing is that you do not want to swallow the juices, it will upset your stomach, some even throw up from it. If you find that you are accidentally swallowing it, or having a hard time keeping it all in one place, try the Copenhagen Tobacco pouches. These pouches are small tea-filter like pouches, that hold ground moist tobacco. The pouches are flavorless so you can still enjoy all of the tobacco flavor you want plus, you will still get the nicotine fix you are craving, without any of the hassle.
How to Get Your Nic Fit with Copenhagen Tobacco
June 3rd, 2010Let the BBQ Season Begin
April 14th, 2010It is time to delouse your grills, put on your cut-off’s and sandels and revel in the day out barbequing and toking countless Cigars. Together with my fave smokes, I really like to sip on a drink of scotch and just relax. After such a long winter, which seemed to be longer than years past, last weekend was perfect BBQ weather. I was able to eventually open all of my windows and air out the house. I do not smoke within, it needed airing out anyhow. I tuned up my grass mower because yes, sadly it is that time of year as well . The snow is gone and the grass is growing. I do not mind cutting my grass and keeping the grass up. There’s basically a great satisfaction to a great looking grass and worth all the effort. This past weekend, I smoked my favourite cigar and BBQ’d up some ribs and pork steaks. I really like to think of myself as the master chef, king of the grill. There is nothing like lighting those coals and going to the city on bounteous meats and vegetables. Naturally I am a charcoal man, I like the flavor of the grill. If you use gas, it doesn’t get the smokey flavor that I adore and is way overrated. I invited all of my pals and obviously the other half and children were there. It is a little to cold to swim yet, but once commemorative day comes around, I’ll open the pool for the season. My children love swimming and splashing around, also I am known to take a dip with cigar and scotch in hand. Summer is a great time to meet up with buddies and relatives and enjoying life they way you wish to.
Buying Your Perfect Humidor
March 17th, 2010There is nothing more perfect than lighting up a stogie when its time to relax, either after your job, on the golfing course and after we look after something important, like an individual and a pro victory. And the more time we puff on cigars and become more acquainted with smokes – the more we learn about looking after them. And of course when we start to smoke premium, costlier brands, we find out how vital it is to keep them at there ideal level of freshness. You didn’t have to stress out about buying a portable case for your Dutch Master Cigars that you used to purchase. So when its time to travel with our smokes -or even if we only wish to have a simpler way to store them while on the way to work or out on SOHO dinners -we definitely wish to have a better way to protect there flavor, as well as carry them properly. And choosing a Cigar Travel Humidor should be something that we take slightly seriously. Truthfully, when you think about it, more people will see our travel humidor than will see our home or first humidor. So choosing a good, quality travelling humidor must be handled with the same kind of thought and detail as when we chose our home humidor. These are some tips for choosing a travelling humidor : These are the basics, but knowing them will prepare you for your search. The Size- essentially, how many cigars will you travel with. Don’t be scared to over do it a little . Manifestly, it’s better to have more space than not enough. Lid and Seal – Depending on the kind of humidor you want – whether it’s a solid case / box -or a leather one – The lid must close on a cushion of air. We don’t need ANY air within our humidor. Air is the enemy and regardless of size, we should always purchase a cigar travel humidor that follows the same guidelines as a regular humidor. Inside and Lining – For traveling, our cigar humidor wishes fingered casing so that our cigars stay nice and snug during our travels -especially for long distance trips. And a good insulated material is always another benefit. Humidifier Device – i have seen some fellows that actually paid money on a humidor with no humidifier device – and its a total let down. The Humidifier is the spine of a good, quality travel humidor. That’s what controls the inside humidity levels within the stogie travel humidor.
Too Much Flavor?
March 5th, 2010Have you ever smoked a flavored cigar to find it had much or too small flavor? Cigars with botanicals and flavored oils can rapidly change its flavor if it’s smoked too fast. To get the maximum flavor and pleasure, select one with a thick ring-gauge that you are feeling at ease smoking. Particularly if you’ve a heavy draw. New tastes and flavoring strategies, along with promoting concepts, and the employment of hand rollers to create the cigars, have put flavored products in an improbable arena. But, instead of developing earthy, leathery, or creamy notes from blends of tobacco, flavored cigars are immediately spiced with liquors, syrups, or food products. They are soaked, infused or steeped with flavors of rum, vanilla, honey and many other flavors. The result is a taste and odor quite different to a conventional cigar smoker. I’ve found a truly good balance in flavoring by CAO Flavored Cigars. For a light smoker, they don’t overpower the tobacco flavor, but give just a hint of sweet deliciousness that any one would enjoy. The only down side that I have come across is if I smoke a flavored cigar, I have to stick with flavored cigars. Switching back and forth seems to confuse my palate, so if I start a flavored cigar, that is what I stick to for that day.
Rolling Smokes via Hand or Machine- which is better?
February 24th, 2010Superior cigars are still hand-made. A professional cigar-roller can produce tons of very good, virtually identical, cigars per day. Of course machine mades like miami suites cigars are usually more consistent. The rollers keep the tobacco moist especially the wrapper and use specifically designed crescent-shaped knives, called chavetas, to form the filler and wrapper leaves quickly and accurately. Once rolled, the cigars are stored in wooden forms as they dry, in which their uncapped ends are cut to a uniform size. From this stage, the cigar is a complete product that may be “laid down” and aged for decades if kept as near to 21C ( 70F ), and 70% relative humidity, as the environment will permit. Once cigars have been purchased, proper storage is mostly accomplished by keeping the cigars in a specialized wooden box, or humidor, where conditions can be carefully controlled for long periods. Even if a cigar becomes dry, it can be successfully re-humidified as long as it hasn’t been handled carelessly and done so continuously. However, the loss of original tobacco oils will greatly affect the taste.
How Cigar Production Works
February 10th, 2010Just as the european wine industry experienced stress and growing pains as united states wine producers gained world accolades, the Cuban cigar industry must face market realities that they are not the world figure in cigar production and cigar quality. In fact, the lifting of the Embargo ( whatever that means ) will not, can not return Cuba to its glory days. The cigar industry has taken root and gained force in a number of the countries discussed above, and there is not any indication that they may go out of business if the embargo is lifted. They are gaining notoriety and accolades for making quality products that the US cigar aficionado has grown to accept and love.
Merely a Couple Days until the Cigarette Exile
December 29th, 2009So, Saint Louis has adopted a smoking ban for all restaurants and bars, with only minimum exceptions. I am so tired of my constitutional rights being eliminated, I am going crazy. I can’t apprehend why non-smokers have such a stong personal judgement on what we smokers are doing. I understand that smoking is unhealthy, but I made a conscience decision when I started smoking, alert to the fact it was unhealthy. Just because non-smokers want me to cease, doesn’t mean that it is going to happen. Smoking in bars has been a privilage, but most restaurants provide a chosen smoking room. If you prefer not to to inhale the smoke, don’t sit down in the smoking room, you are not coerced to sit in the smoking section. And as well as the jobholers of these pubs that state they are distressed by second hand smoke, prove it. I worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years, and I know that most of theco-workers were smokers. Interacting with people, tends to, initiates you to smoke. Personally, I have never heard any non-smoking co-worker ever complain about cigarette smoke while working in the smoking room. Putting a smoking restriction in restaurants and bars, ultimately will only save me money, for I refuse to go out after the the new year.
What I have to have for my Present: Stogies!
December 18th, 2009I have made a decision this year to ask for clear-cut gifts that my wife can determine easily for me. My number one gift, as always, is my well-beloved stogie from copenhagen-long-cut.com. She won’t even have to take leave of the condo, she can go on the internet (I have all my favorites sites saved) and make out the order there. As far as other gifts, she can take a trip to the closest store and pick out a gift. She argues every holiday that I am utterly baffling man to buy for. But we have been married for almost 15 years! And if she doesn’t know the things I want by now, I just don’t know. I constantly articulate every holiday, “get me smokes”, I enjoy 1 or 2 in a day, and that adds up. I own a humidor for keeping my smokes, “what’s that for?” my love says. Well my sweetheart, it’s to keep my stogies fresh. So, if you get me cigars for the holiday I can keep them in there for a few months and remove a cigar when I am wishing to enjoy one. Although I have to say, I was blessed with luck last year, my love bought me a lighter that was ingraved with my initials. The year before, she bought me a fishing pole, unfortunately I said I wanted to go fishing again someday. Well, I went fishing only once in two years, but guess what, I still puff 1-2 smokes a day. So what do I want for my present this year? I want Stogies, and whatever else would just be an secondary delight.
Cigar: Information for the typical stogie smoker
November 10th, 2009The typical method of categorizing cigars is by the method in which they are made. Cigars are either rolled by hand, or manufactured by machines. The novice smoker may be tempted to start by trying those machine made brands sold in Drug Stores, such as Garcia Vega. However, the aspiring connoisseur should consider spending a few more pennies and moving up to hand rolled cigars, which are sold online or at a local tobacconist.
Daily Smokers Vs Connoisseurs
TypicalIndividual cigar smokers have their own specific tastes, and have their own individual financial constraints. Those who like smoking several cigars per day may need an “everyday” cigar that is less expensive. Therefore, the taste and cost of machine made cigars can be very handsome to some smokers. However, to the beginner or experienced connoisseurs, the ones who enjoy an occasional cigar as a special treat, the hand rolled cigar is worth every cent.
